ARTE VOD is ARTE’s OTT service to offer on-demand access to their cultural programs on set-top boxes.
アルテはヨーロッパの公共文化チャンネルです。毎年、400本以上の映画と1000時間以上のライブ放送、舞台芸術、ドキュメンタリー、カルチャーマガジン番組を6ヶ国語で配信しています。ARTE・VODは、アルテの文化番組をセットトップボックスでオンデマンド配信するOTTサービスです。
Designing a video-on-demand application available only on set-top boxes is an interesting challenge, given the strong hardware constraints. Indeed, the wide variety of remote controls greatly limits the range of commands available, while the limited computing power available of set-top boxes imposes severe constraints on the display and animation performance of the graphical interface. セットトップボックスでのみ利用可能なビデオ・オン・デマンド・アプリケーションの設計は、ハードウェアの強い制約を考えると、興味深い挑戦です。実際、多種多様なリモコンは利用可能なコマンドの範囲を大幅に制限し、セットトップボックスの利用可能な計算能力は限られているため、グラフィカル・インターフェースの表示とアニメーションのパフォーマンスに厳しい制約が課せられます。
